SONORA DIVING, ABOUT US

HISTORY

We are not just a dive center; we are a vibrant community of ocean enthusiasts deeply rooted in the beaches of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico.

SONORA DIVING

We are a tour operator specializing in adventure tourism, offering activities such as rappelling, snorkeling, hiking, recreational diving, cycling, kayaking, sandboarding, sport fishing, and other outdoor pursuits.

We primarily organize and conduct adventure tours between December and May.

A LITTLE HISTORY

Sonora Diving began operations in 2015 as the “Outdoor Sonora Diving” diving school. The first instructor was Guillermo Gil, followed by Juan Carlos Chee, and currently Daniel Gastelum.

Our beginnings

The diving school emerged from the television program Outdoor Sonora, which documented adventure tourism in the state, including diving.

Entering the world of diving

After 5 years of Outdoor Sonora, Outdoor Sonora Diving emerged, a division specializing in diving.

We are Sonora Diving

Currently, the word Outdoor has been removed, leaving only SONORA DIVING as a company 100% dedicated to diving, which this June 14th is celebrating 10 years of operations with more than 500 certifications, not bad for a business that only operated in the summer months.

LCC DANIEL GASTELUM VALENCIA

General Director and PADI Master SD Trainer Instructor

In 2017, he achieved the PADI Instructor certification, and during 2018, 2019, and 2020, he attained the Elite Instructor distinction by training over 50 new certified divers each year.

He is currently an instructor certified by both PADI and HSA, the latter being an agency specializing in providing diving certifications to people with disabilities.

We are more than a diving school, we are a community

COMMITTED TO FLORA AND FAUNA
