The PADI Enriched Air Diver course (commonly known as the Nitrox Specialty course) teaches you to dive with enriched air (Nitrox) mixtures, allowing you to enjoy longer bottom times and reducing the risks associated with nitrogen absorption, as enriched air has a higher concentration of oxygen and lower nitrogen than regular air.
Duration: 1 day
Cost: $4,000 MX (until July 2025).
Includes: PADI international certification, manual, certified instructor.
Not included: Nitrox tank if practice is requested, transfers, or anything not specified.
Minimum requirements: Open Water Diver certification. 12 years of age.
Condition:
The course is theoretical with optional beach practice (nitrox tank not included).
Enriched Air Theory: Understand what enriched air (Nitrox) is, its composition, and the benefits and risks of diving with this gas mixture.
Calculating No-Decompression Times: Use tables or dive computers to calculate safe bottom times based on the percentage of oxygen in the Nitrox mixture.
Equipment: Learn to identify the different types of equipment used when diving with Nitrox, such as oxygen meters, and how to properly prepare the mixture.
